"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

I was once told of the medieval english story of Orpheo. It describes a Queen who falls asleep beneath a tree and is whisked away to faeryland. This story has a very sorry ending, for when the queen awakes she discovers she is on this earthly plane. She becomes delirious with rage and she tears herself to shreds at the thought of having to leave behind the pleasures of faeryland.
This is a story which I can completely empathise with and I'm sure a number of you can completely empathise too...
You see, we play centuries old music and sing medieval songs as a way of transporting ourselves to a world more romantic than our own. And we wear these long flowing gowns, wedding bouquets in our hair, corsets, sometimes even extravagant hats, as a way of casting aside our mundane existence and chasing our fantasies.
